44-year-old British boxer Rob Newbiggin, who has previously admitted to wearing wigs and dresses in his spare time, has revealed that he will undergo a sex change to become a woman.
The 44-year-old boxer is speaking out about his personal struggles, saying that he’s lost “every friend” he’s ever had after revealing he will change his sexual identity.
The Southport Visiter reports that Newbiggin will undergo a sex change to become a woman and he will use the name Mercedes once the operation is complete. While Newbiggin is happy with his decision, he feels he is the only one: “I have lost every friend I have ever had in the world in this town.”
“My friends don’t want to know me. I’ve got people winding their windows down shouting abuse at me while I go for my run — that’s why we are having to relocate. I have to think about my kids,” Newbiggin told the Visiter.
One person has stuck by Rob through his decision to become a woman – his wife Emma: “Emma has been my rock. She understands what I’m going through and we are going to stay together.”
