Kanye West Interrupts Taylor Swift’s VMA Acceptance Speech to Praise Beyoncé

Remember the idiot who four years ago shortly after Hurricane Katrina destroyed New Orleans said on national television that “George Bush doesn’t care about black people?”
Well, on Sunday night, rapper Kanye West made a fool of himself again, this time storming the stage at MTV’s Video Music Awards and interrupting Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech for winning this year’s Best Female Video.
In front of a stunned crowd, West said singer Beyoncé was more deserving of the award.

Just moments after Swift accepted the Moonman and began her acceptance speech, Kanye West stormed the stage, taking the microphone from Swift to announce Beyoncé deserved the award.
“Yo Taylor, I’m really happy for you, I’ll let you finish, but Beyoncé has one of the best videos of all time. One of the best videos of all time!,” Kanye shouted to a mortified Swift and the speechless audience. And as quickly as he ran onstage – MTV cut away to show Pink, and when they flashed back to Swift, West already had the mic in his hand – he was off, leaving a shocked Swift in his wake.
Just imagine that almost exactly four years ago, Bush-hating media members were actually praising this man.

While I don’t think that Kanye was an “idiot” for calling out Dubya after Hurricane Katrina (in fact, I think he’s right on the money there), his antics at last night’s VMA’s was simply inexcusable.
And, of course, this isn’t the first incident of Kanye making a complete ass of himself at the VMA’s.
MTV needs to bar him from attending any future awards shows – period.
Kudos to Beyonce for showing beaucoup class in a very awkward situation.
