Daylight savings time 2009: fall back! Yes, you heard me right, Daylight Savings Time 2009 is time to fall back. The time change happened in October last year, but the time change this year will happen in November. Next week, don’t forget to set your clocks back before going to bed Saturday night!

Daylight Savings Time 2009 fall back is my personal favorite time change. During the spring when we “spring forward”, I find that I don’t particularly like losing an hour – especially on the weekend. Spring forward should happen during the work day, to allow workers to lose one hour of work. Fall back should happen as it does – on the weekend.

Many people were confused about the Daylight Saving Time 2009 fall back time. In the past, the time change happened on the last Sunday in October. This year, and all years after Daylight Savings Time will happen on the first Sunday in October.

For the most part, many people won’t have to adjust their clocks. The clocks on our computer and newer alarm clocks automatically adjust for Daylight Savings Time. If you forget to set your manual clocks back, your computer clock will remind you of your mistake rather quickly.

However, many computers will auto-adjust Daylight Savings Time 2009 fall back today. If MS Windows users don’t have the latest DST patch, their clocks will auto adjust on the last Sunday in October. This could add to confusion, especially in those that forget about Daylight Savings Time all together.

What is the purpose of Daylight Savings Time? The 2009 fall back will make the sun rise one hour later in the morning, and then set one hour later in the evening. This makes the day feel longer, and gives everyone what seems to be an extra hour of daylight.

Those in the European Union will complete the Daylight Savings Time 2009 fall back on October 25. They still remain with the old standard fall back period on the last Sunday in October. All EU countries will complete the fall back time change at the same time. In the United States, the time change occurs at 2 am local time, so the time change happens at a different time for each time zone.

Although we don’t gain an extra hour this weekend, next weekend may be a better candidate for the 2009 fall back. This way, people can sleep in after partying it up on Halloween.
