Election Day November 2009 : Results
November 4th, 2009 | by admin | 894 viewsElection Day 2009 is upon us. Many believe this is a referendum on President Barack Obama and the white house is nervous, downplaying any victory by Republican forthcoming as nothing more than an off-year win. Time Magazine also sees the polls and runs some interference with a “nothing to see here” attitude and claims, “Much will be made of the results, whatever they are — likely too much, in fact.”
CNN says voters are angry, fed up with empty promises and rising unemployment. The president has dispatched members of his team to do television interviews, downplaying any losses. “I don’t think there’s a whole lot of lessons that we’ll take away from the 2009 elections,” said John Anzalone, a pollster that worked for the president.
Others have also said losing the election should be ‘no big deal’ for the Democrats. The Hill, a Washington DC “Inside the beltway” newspaper runs this headline online, “Dems brace for Election Day losses”. They seem convinced that it looks dire for the Dems, but the votes are still being cast on Election Day.
CNN has “Ten races worth watching around country,” here, along with video. Two key races – Virginia governor and New Jersey governor along with a heated race in New York state, to represent New York’s 23rd Congressional District.
Results will be here as they come in tonight.
