Veterans Day Parade NYC 2009

It’s the Veterans Day Parade in New York City today and it appears that the people of New York are being treated to something very special. According to foxnews.com, the famed Navajo Code Talkers are coming to the city.
For those of you who don’t know what the Navajo Code Talkers are, they are the elite Marine unit whose unbreakable code stymied the Japanese in the Second World War. There is said to be only 50 of the 400 Code Talkers still alive.
And 13 of the 50 remaining Code Talkers are taking part in the NYC Veterans Day Parade, which is said to be the nation’s largest parade, for the very first time. Many of the Code Talkers are too frail and ill now to tell their story.
