According to TMZ Johnson and Johnson heiress Casey Johnson died of Diabetic ketoacidosis which is when the body has too little insulin to break down sugar and have it enter cells for energy.
The Coroner’s findings show Johnson was not taking her insulin shots, was not exercising, did not follow her strict diet and was not taking other medicines she needed.
What is Diabetic Ketoacidosis?
DKA is usually seen in people who have type 1 (insulin-dependent) diabetes. Most often, these are diabetics younger than 25 years, but the condition may occur in diabetics of any age. Males and females are equally affected.
