The U.S. Coast Guard has rescued thirteen workers from a Mariner Energy manufacturing platform positioned about eighty miles off the Louisiana coast where there was an explosion and fire this morning.
The explosion took location around 9:30 a.m., according to a Rebecca Broussard, director with the Office of Emergency Management for Vermillion Parish, La.
All thirteen team members have been rescued from the water, sporting safety suits and huddled collectively, mentioned Coast Guard Petty Officer Matthew Masachi.
